Privacy
Your reading is your own.
Quran Clips has no accounts, no ads and no tracking of people. This is what happens with your information. Last updated 14 October 2026.
What stays on your phone
Your settings (language, reciter, theme, text size) are kept on your phone only. We never receive them. Browsing the Qur’an and choosing ayahs work on your phone, without sending anything anywhere.
When something does leave your phone
- Listening. The recitation audio is fetched from a public recitation host (EveryAyah.com), the way a web page loads an image. The host can see that a phone asked for those audio files.
- Making a short. The app sends our server the verse reference, the options you chose (scene, highlight, where the names sit, the translation wording) and, only if you pick it, your own photo. The server makes the video and sends it back. These files are removed automatically after a few hours. We do not keep your shorts.
- Free photos and videos. If you browse the free library, your search words go to our server, which asks the photo provider (Pexels) on your behalf, so no key or identifier is on your phone.
- Tafsir links. A tafsir link opens Quran.com in your browser, under its own privacy terms.
When you contact us
If you send a bug report or a feature request, we keep your message, the type, and (only if you typed them) your email, phone model and app version. We do not store your IP address or browser details. To stop spam, the server holds your address in its memory for up to an hour to count how many messages come from it, and then forgets it. A hidden field on the form helps tell people from spam bots; it records nothing about you. We use your email only to reply.
Anonymous counts
To learn what is useful and what is broken, our server keeps plain counts: for example, how many times each surah was made into a video today, which reciter, which shape, how many videos failed, and how many times this website’s pages were opened. These are totals per day. They are not tied to you or your phone, and they cannot be: we keep no account, device number, cookie or address with them, and nothing you type (captions, searches, messages) is counted. If something breaks in the app, it can send a short note saying which screen and what kind of error, with the app version and whether it is iPhone or Android. It does not include your content. This website skips its page count if your browser sends Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control. Nothing is sent to an analytics company; the counts stay on our own server.
What we do not do
- No accounts and no sign-in.
- No ads and no ad networks.
- Our server’s request log records what was asked for (for example, “make a short”), never who asked or what they searched for: it keeps no addresses and no search words.
- No analytics companies and no tracking of people in the app or on this website (only the anonymous daily counts described above, kept on our own server). This site loads nothing from other sites: its fonts and images come from the site itself.
- We do not sell or share information, because we do not collect personal information.
Children
Quran Clips collects no personal information from anyone, including children.
